From the Patient.....
I am a real person again. The Nurses and everyone on the staff have been incrediblygreat in managing my discomfort yesterday. I actually got up and shuffled with my walker to the wall and back, twice. And moving day tomorrow. On my way to the Rehab Hospital of the Cape and islands. Can't wait to get working on rehab.
To All,
The difference from yesterday to today is stark to say the least. Needless to say there are no photos of Nancy's misery yesterday but there a some from today; Jesse, Emily, Nancy and another Boston image. And those funky socks!!!! 24 hours ago, she was in tough condition and really sick. Today, if not for being in bed and generally immobile, she is the same person we all know and love.
Nancy is ready to start the next phase and all I can say is RHCI on the Cape, look out. Clear the decks for action.
To be continued .................................

Night and Day almost doesn't cover it! I can't believe how good you looked yesterday. I wish everyone could have seen how much work you did with the PT! AMAZING!!! I know this is going to be a long road, but I see really good things for you with those new knees!
ReplyDeleteReady for some Mamma Mia's?
I don't know anyone who can party like you- taking drugs until you puke in celebration of your anniversary! You go girl- you remind me of that chick who used to sing with the Greatful Dead, in between huge gulps of vodka right from the bottle. You know, it's a turn-on to know a woman who actually wore her knees out- talk about dedication! Which reminds me- how do you know which one is the head nurse? She's the one with the dirty knees! Keep it up sista- you are an inspiration to us all, as usual!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Nancy! SOOOO glad to hear things have turned a corner - at least a little and certainly in the right direction!
ReplyDeleteLet me know when you're up for company - I think I could use a road trip right about now!
HUGS!
